Mother’s Day is coming up this weekend and we can’t think of a better way to start mum’s day than by bringing her breakfast in bed. Whether you’re planning on making a big stack of pancakes or a Full English Breakfast, you’ll need to recruit dad for help as many things require the use of the stove or the oven, unless you’re going the easy route: cereal and fresh fruit.
How to make the perfect breakfast for mum:
1. Find out what her favourite breakfast foods are first so you know exactly what to make. What’s her favourite kind of fruit juice, how does she take her coffee, what are her favourite fresh fruits, does she like her eggs scrambled or poached?
2. Plan your menu in advance, so you know exactly what to buy at the shop. Make your list and then it’s off to the grocery store to buy all your ingredients (best do this at least the day before).
3. Time your breakfast right, you don’t want mum waking up before you or she’ll ruin the surprise! Prepare the food very quietly so she doesn’t stir. If you’re serving toast, save it for last so that it’s still warm when you’re ready to serve.
4. Load up the breakfast tray with all the goodies and ask dad to help you carry it to their room. Don’t forget to make a card for her tray too and get ready to smother her with hugs and kisses when you bring it in.
